TOPS went to NARRA!
In preparation for the coming activities of the group, TOPS under the leadership of Chet Capati and Sel Racelis facilitated the planning session last May 26, 2007 at Narra Center in Las Pinas.
Although some of the activities were realigned due to some delays and a lot of excited chats among the group members who easily got along, the day was full of fun, food and fruitful exercises.
The sessions in Narra started with lunch... a very welcome first activity after the group braved the Zapote road traffic. Soon after, was the talk on Planes of Development by Ms. Zeny Atienza where the group learned a song or two that we can share with our future students. Ms. Zeny also shared a story that in no time left the group singing along. Afterwards was the talk of Ms. Miriam Mercado on Reading Remediation. It was so interesting that the group would be meeting with them again soon to further explore the topic.
Meditation and Benediction followed. After a heavy merienda, sessions continued to the much awaited getting to know you game led by Anne. The activity was opened by the now famous "What is the objective of this activity?" spiel by our little cute guest, Karen. There is no denying the competetiveness of the members but all in the spirit of gaining new friends. With the participants closer than ever, the group headed to work.
Dinner chit chat was more than enough to while the night away that no one had the spirit to leave the table and go for a swim. This somehow shows us a glimpse of how things would be as we continue working together.
The Holy Mass started us off on our second day. Breakfast followed, amusingly displaying the different breakfast concoctions that some members of the group have. Hmmm... does this mean we already have a topic for the next sessions? I mean, aside from teaching?
The remainder of the morning was spent ironing out the organizational structure, policies and guidelines of the group. Buddies were also established.
